Resaca Battlefield Historical Site Park

The Friends of Resaca Battlefield, Inc. has joined forces with the Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources, and the Georgia Dept. of Transportation to temporally hold a sneak preview opening of Gordon Counties new Civil War Park located off Hwy. 136 West near the I-75 interchange.
On May 16, 17, 18, for 9am to 5pm the park will be open free of charge to the public to celebrate the 150th Anniversary and the thirty annual Battle of Resaca Civil War Reenactment.
A special entrance into the massive site will be marked. Come and enjoy the six miles of interpretive trails trails though the 1864 lines of the Confederate and Federal lines.
Friends of Resaca Battlefield, Ken Padgett, stated that the site looks great and we are very excited to have it open that Friday, Saturday, & Sunday. The site will close after this point so that the final phase of completion by DNR can be completed and turned over to Gordon County for operation in the future.
